Photo sessions take anywhere from 1 to 3 hours, and an unlimited amount of photos are taken during that time. I like to give extra time so that you never feel rushed and get the most out of your session.

*Children…
I like to schedule 2-3 hours for photo sessions with children so there is plenty of time for bathroom breaks/diaper change, a snack or drink etc.

Try to schedule your sitting at a time that is good for your little one. I understand that is sometimes unpredictable, but I will do my best to accommodate you.

I will give a little direction, but most of the time I like to capture your child during normal activities. Kids are full of life, to say the least, and capturing that wonderful personality is my goal. Some of your favorite pictures will be the ones in which they are not posing for the camera. Your child's natural expressions are often the best.

*Location…
All photography sessions take place on location. Location is the client’s choice, but I’d be happy to help by giving suggestions if needed. Babies and younger children are more comfortable when they’re in an environment where they can be themselves, so most clients prefer for the photo session to take place in their home.

I like to start by looking at the space to see where the best background and light is for the photos. I prefer to use natural light, for both it’s beauty and because it provides a more relaxed environment. The more relaxed you are, the easier it is to get natural pictures.

During the summer months many of my clients like to do a mixture of indoor and outdoor photos. I’m happy to make arrangements for 2 locations so you get the most variety out of your photo session.

*What to Wear…
You want the focus on you not on what you're wearing, so solids really work best in photos. A lot of patterns, bright colors, and logos can become very distracting.

If more than one person is being photographed you don’t have to match but tones should be complimentary. Solids are best because it is very distracting to have different patterns on everyone's clothing.

Babies and toddlers look very sweet in bare feet. Just a diaper is another adorable option. It’s also fun sometimes to end the session with a costume or dress up look like a cute tutu or cape (for those young super heroes!). I’m happy to photograph them in a variety of outfits & looks if they don’t mind clothing changes.

*After your Session…
For all sessions I provide a private link to your online proofs about 2-3 weeks after your session. This will allow you to select the images you want as prints and it’s a great way to quickly share your photos with friends and family.

(Please also note that print orders take about 2 weeks once an order is placed, so please let me know if you need prints rushed to you by a certain date)
